Our standard
This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is treated as a design requirement, not an afterthought — and as an ongoing practice rather than a finished checkbox.
What is implemented
Current accessibility features include:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper landmarks, headings, and breadcrumb navigation on every page
- Text contrast designed to meet or exceed the 4.5:1 AA ratio across light and dark surfaces
- Visible keyboard focus indicators and fully keyboard-navigable menus and disclosure widgets
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences — animations disable automatically for users who request it
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images and decorative images hidden from assistive technology
- Readable typography with generous line-height, scalable units, and a responsive layout down to small screens
- Descriptive link text and consistent, predictable navigation across all pages
Known limitations
Third-party destinations we link to (booking, government references) have their own accessibility practices we do not control. Some photographs of documents or scenery may convey more to sighted users despite our alt-text efforts.
